Item 2.02 Results of Operations and Financial Condition.
On April 17, 2019, Alcoa Corporation (the “Company”) issued a press release announcing its first quarter 2019 financial results. A copy of the press release is attached hereto as Exhibit 99.1 and is incorporated by reference into this Item 2.02.
As of January 1, 2019, the Company changed its accounting method for valuing certain inventories in the United States and Canada from last-in, first-out (LIFO) to average cost. The effects of the change in accounting principle have been retrospectively applied to all prior periods, and as a result, certain financial statement line items in the Company’s consolidated financial statements for the 2018 interim and full year periods were adjusted, as set forth in Exhibit 99.2, which is attached hereto and incorporated by reference into this Item 2.02.
