The trend is mainly due to the fall in volumes of effective component of nitrogenous, phosphate and potash fertilizers. Compound fertilizer, on the other hand, has rose from 20.1 million tons in 2013 to 22.2 million tons in 2017, with a CAGR of approximately 1.9%. Looking forward, with the implementation of government policies targeting zero growth in the use of chemical fertilizer by 2020, the total consumption of chemical fertilizer in the PRC is expected to decrease further, implying opportunities for the market of compound fertilizer and organic fertilizer in the PRC.
