Item 5.02 Departure of Directors or Principal Officers; Election of Directors; Appointment of Principal Officers
On April 15, 2005, Applied Digital Solutions, Inc.’s (the “Company”) Board of Directors accepted the resignation of Kevin H. McLaughlin as President and Chief Operating Officer of the Company upon the promotion of Mr. McLaughlin to Chief Executive Officer of the Company’s subsidiary, VeriChip Corporation. Effective April 15, 2005, the Board of Directors appointed Scott R. Silverman, the Company’s Chairman and Chief Executive Officer, as Acting President of the Company, to serve until such time as a permanent president is appointed.
